Introducing Lovie's Portfolio

For my final project, I decided to highlight my experience as a black woman in predominantly white settings. My journey to self-love has been beyond challenging in a society unaccepting of me because of the color of my skin. In assimilating to white culture, it is nearly impossible not to lose a part of yourself. Inspired by Zora Neale Hurston's words, I included a white background in each piece to emphasize the severity of this difficulty.
